The Theresian Alumnae Chorale
How We Started
On March 8, 2003, International Women’s Day, the St. Theresa’s College Quezon City Alumnae Association (STAA) produced "Theresians in Concert", an extravaganza of Theresian artists in the arts - music, dance and visual arts. The show, which lasted a record breaking five and a half hours, was such a smashing success that the alumnae who performed in the much applauded "Broadway Medley", decided to pursue their love for singing and dancing by forming the Theresian Alumnae Chorale, or the TAC.
Composed of 25 or so STCQC graduates spanning five decades, the TAC has evolved from a simple bevy of song and dance enthusiasts to a dedicated and increasingly professional chorale.
Every Saturday, the TAC meets at the Penthouse of the Phoenix Building in Quezon City, their home away from home, courtesy of TAC Chairperson Lynda Sibal. Under the tutelage of its Musical Director, Aji Manalo, the TAC spends Saturday evenings honing their singing skills. Additional weekday dance practices are held with Artistic Director Veda Bañez-Alonso who choreographs all the TAC’s dances.
The TAC has come a long way since its inception. The vivacious group is a familiar presence at most STCQC affairs such as the Annual Homecoming and the Family Day. They have had invitations to perform in numerous affairs organized by Theresian graduates.
The TAC continues to be St. Theresa’s College’s "ambassadors of song and dance" and an inspiration to all Theresian graduates to keep the light shining by spreading the joy of music and dance and strengthening the bonds and camaraderie among Theresians.
