The Dynamic Board for 2007-2010

Fifteen active, motivated and committed women from the earliest batch HS 52 to HS 2002 now compose your hands-on Alumnae Board also known as the volunteer Working Committee. Our strong and focused Lulu acts as ex-officio member to ensure continuity of projects and smooth transition. Socially-responsible and energetic Margarita "Margie" Penson-Juico HS 67 C 71 was unanimously chosen to be Vice Chairperson. Amiable and reliable Ma Rita "Arit" Katigbak-Rodriguez HS 68 C73 continues to keep the records as Secretary. Her high school batch supported the development of the computerized membership database. Trustworthy and exacting Ma. Lourdes "Lut" Pena guards the funds as Treasurer. Well-organized and dynamic Ma Asuncion "Marion" Kohchet-Chua HS 83, currently Homecoming 2008 convenor, is Auditor.

Independent-minded and sensible Erlinda "Lynda" Sibal HS 70 continues to manage and host the Theresian Alumnae Chorale which meets every Saturday at the Sibal"s Phoenix Building. It was her batch that initiated the Theresian for Life membership and the new masthead of the newsletter. She also designed the first website in 1998. Organized and systematic Olivia "Oli" Inocentes-Jacinto HS 76 has now taken over as the "tech-y" in the group working closely with Arit’s daughter, Rosanne Rodriguez-Unson HS 95 who redesigned the new website. Hard-working and conscientious Celeste "Teng" Centeno Verzo HS 79 has graciously accepted to put together the first newsletter for the year and ensure that the succeeding ones come out.

Oli, our "spider" who weaves the web, emails everyone in her list for STAA and batch announcements. Persistent and positive Ma. Lourdes "Des" Angeles-Costales HS 80 calls all class representatives to the annual Class Representatives’ Assembly in July and keeps everyone in good spirits.

Also in the Chorale are cheerful and sociable Ma. Asuncion "Marissa" Parungo-Bay HS 73 and gregarious and vibrant Ma. Ana Minerva "Minnie" Rualo-Elizaga HS 72 who, together with new recruit Saripaz "Sari" Villar HS 82 will ensure that STAA’s presence continues to be visible to the general public so that funds and resources will continuously flow. After co-organizing the marvelous and most-attended Homecoming 2007, inspired and super resourceful Saripaz was drawn in to represent the perspective of the eighties and help in the Public Relations Committee and the Ways and Means Committee.

Retired UN diplomat Gilda Marie Sebastian HS 52, belonging to the first alumnae batch, contributes timeless wisdom and grace. She serves as an inspiration to all of us and to the younger batches represented by diligent and dependable student Frances Ann Carlos HS 2002.

And I am your Chairperson, joyful in being of service to the STAA, challenged to be a burning light for you. Since my involvement with the Board in 1997, I have found affirmation and delight in being in touch not just with my own batchmates but also with other alumnae from the wide range of batches. Contrary to some doubts, the Theresian standard of excellence has remained the same. Those recognized as Teresa’s Light Women of Service are living examples of alumnae who have made a difference in their family life, workplace, community and sphere of influence.

The entire team, along with the other active volunteers involved in the various committees, keeps the STAAQC alive and relevant to the call of the times.
