A Brief History

Our alumnae association has come a long, long way! From its beginnings in the early fifties when St. Theresa’s College Quezon City graduated its first batch of high school seniors in 1952, to its lowest point - actually total silence - during the Martial law years, to its resurrection in 1987, STAAQC has since grown steadily into what it is now - constant to its purpose and deep in its conviction to keep the light burning in the hearts of all Theresian alumnae.

We thank all the past presidents, especially Alice "Peanuts" Alafriz-Panares HS 59 who revived the STAA in 1987, Rose Marie Jimenez-Bautista HS 55 who provided wisdom and continuity, and Ma Lourdes "Lulu" Bangsal-Gonzalez HS 69, who, in her ten years of leadership, built stability to the organization.

Alumnae who have interacted with the STAA have found renewed strength in each other. They have come to bond, not just simply for camaraderie, but to do something greater together - something beyond themselves. Activities, whether organized by the batches or by the STAA, are done with a social conscience and with character - typical of true blue-blooded Theresians.

Our Mission-Vision

Women vested with the legacy of a Belgian woman-foundress, Mother Marie Louise de Meester, have graduated in continuous waves since the first St. Theresa's College, Quezon City graduates of 1952.

Imbued with the deep sense of spirituality of St. Teresa of Avila, these women are energized to consolidate and project an active involvement in society along the line of St. Theresa's College's motto:

In view of this, STAA, QC provides a CENTER that signifies the unity of Theresians interacting with one another for a renewal of spirit and common goals:

  • to nurture, to care, to listen, to support one another's need and growth
  • to highlight the social, environmental and health services rendered by its members that bring about reform and transformation of society
  • to provide a venue for national and global communication of its members to make each other feel connected.
